Bhavani Mandapa was an important meeting venue in yesteryears. It housed the offices of various court officials and was the center of many celebrations.
The place has also witnessed a famous murder in the center of the courtyard.
The place has a nostalgic charm and typical architecture of British Raj bringing back memories of the rich princely state Kolhapur used to be.
The Plan
LAMP Amphitheatre
The amphitheatre is provided with a musical fountain that uses holes on the ground to spray water . This fountain is used as the stage for the amphitheatre when its not in use.
The amphitheatre is designed with the concept of diyas. This concept is used as the amphitheatre spreads light and the shape of the diya is maintained and could be viewed from above.
Shops are provided on the backside of the amphitheatre with projecting chatris which act like shades for these shops. Small scale shops that do not need much area hence I have proposed it here
